IMEX Frankfurt: Sustainable catering is gaining importance in tenders

If you want to win international tenders, you can hardly avoid sustainable catering.

The industry analyses published last week by IMEX Frankfurt show that sustainable catering concepts are becoming increasingly important in the MICE market. In particular, so-called "plant-forward" concepts, where plant-based menus are the standard and meat or fish dishes can be booked as an option, are increasingly in demand among international companies. Sustainability certificates are also becoming increasingly important when selecting event service providers.

As a result, corresponding requirements are increasingly developing from voluntary trends into fixed components of tenders in the corporate sector. At the same time, the importance of transparent proof of sustainability in event catering is increasing.

This development is particularly relevant for event venues and business caterers. Providers who do not provide detailed information on CO₂ emissions or certified sustainable catering offers could be considered less frequently by international corporate customers in future.
