Traditional industry awards often recognise visibility and name recognition. The newly conceived MICE Hall of Fame Award takes a different approach: it honours organisations and individuals in the German-speaking world whose initiatives extend beyond individual events and whose work tangibly transforms the entire sector. Whether it be sustainability, technology, leadership, creativity or innovation – what matters is the scalable impact.
The awards are divided into two categories:
Corporate awards are presented for impact, relevance and transformation, for example in the areas of sustainability, technology, leadership, creativity and innovation.
Individual Awards are presented for Newcomer of the Year, Manager of the Year and a special award – the Lifetime Achievement Award for entrepreneurs, owners and managing directors.
The first ceremony for the newly conceived MICE Hall of Fame Awards will take place on 29 April 2027 at the Rheinterrassen in Düsseldorf. The evening marks the official launch of a format designed to foster ongoing dialogue within the industry about impact, transformation and the future.
The jury for the newly conceived awards comprises recognised experts from the MICE sector. Members include Jesper Götsch (Jazzunique), Kim Werner (Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences), Alexander Ostermaier (Forward Live Association), Maximilian Neßmann (Event Partner), Brit Glocke (Tophotel) and Peter Blach (blachreport). The composition deliberately reflects the diversity of the sector – drawing on academia, associations, the media and industry practice.
“The MICE sector is undergoing change – and with it, the question of how excellence is assessed today. We want to establish an award that focuses not on yesterday’s successes, but on initiatives that will continue to have an impact tomorrow,” the three initiators agree. “The award will recognise those who boldly break new ground, take responsibility and thereby drive the entire sector forward.
The MICE Hall of Fame Award has been a fixture in the meetings, incentives, congresses and events sector across the German-speaking world for many years and was significantly shaped by industry expert Gerald Huft.
With its reorientation from 2026 onwards, the award is deliberately sending a strong signal for the future of the sector: the focus is no longer solely on individual creative achievements, but above all on measurable results with a strong impact, strategic transformation and lasting relevance.
The aim is to highlight individuals and projects that are actively shaping the transformation of the MICE industry and setting new standards. In doing so, the MICE Hall of Fame Award establishes itself as a modern, credible benchmark for genuine excellence and long-term impact in a dynamically changing industry.
