Through this collaboration, leat con and the Future of Festivals aim to demonstrate that the future of the events industry lies not in competition, but in cooperation. Both events have different profiles, appeal to partly different target audiences and focus on their own specific areas of content. Yet this is precisely where the added value lies: whilst leat con focuses on experience technologies in the fields of live events, ProAV, stage technology, broadcast and telecommunications, the Future of Festivals brings together festival organisers, service providers, cultural practitioners and innovators from the festival industry. These are diverse target groups, yet they face similar challenges, and their great potential lies in the many points of intersection that make exchange and collaboration indispensable. Particularly in an industry facing major changes, there is a need for platforms that work together, share knowledge and facilitate new connections. This new partnership builds a bridge designed to achieve precisely that.
The joint ticketing partnership is therefore not only intended to provide added value for visitors, but also to send a clear signal to the entire events sector: different profiles can complement one another. Collaboration strengthens the sector! And together, we create greater visibility, greater relevance, more innovation and greater future potential for the entire events industry.
As an experience technology convention , leat con is not a traditional trade fair, but a platform that brings together five sectors: live tech, stage tech, broadcast, install and communicate – five hubs representing markets that are increasingly working in an interconnected way, all coming together in Hamburg in one place over three days. It is precisely at these intersections that new ideas, projects and collaborations emerge – ones that would otherwise rarely be possible.
The exhibition and the convention are equally important: for 2026, seven stages, workshops, training areas, demo rooms, masterclasses and side events are planned – not as a supporting programme, but as the core of the event. Since 2021, leat con has been growing steadily – in terms of floor space, sectors and community. In 2026, it will celebrate its fifth year: three halls, five hubs, one industry.
