“Better Stands”: New standards for sustainable exhibition stand construction

The ‘Better Stands’ initiative is placing greater emphasis on the reusability of exhibition stands.

Following the fwd: Annual General Meeting, the criteria for the “Better Stands” initiative were further developed. The aim is to gradually reduce the use of single-use exhibition stands and instead focus on reusable modular systems and recyclable materials.

The new guidelines are intended to promote sustainable stand construction and further advance the circular economy in the exhibition sector. As a result, sustainable stand concepts are becoming increasingly important when planning trade fair appearances.

This development is particularly relevant for stand builders, event designers and corporate planners. The new requirements should be taken into account right from the conception and tendering stages of upcoming trade fair appearances in order to meet the sustainability requirements of many venue operators.
