Event Industry Forum submits list of demands to the federal government

The events industry is calling for less red tape and better conditions for international events in Germany.

On 9 July 2026, the Events Industry Forum presented a list of demands to Members of the Bundestag during a parliamentary breakfast meeting. Among other things, the industry associations are calling for a dedicated political point of contact at federal level, greater reduction in red tape, faster visa procedures for international guests, and additional investment incentives.

The proposed measures are intended to strengthen Germany’s competitiveness as an events destination and to facilitate the organisation of international conferences, trade fairs and major events.

This is particularly relevant for event planners, trade fair organisers and agencies. Should these demands be implemented, international event formats could in future be planned and organised with less administrative burden.
