Modernisation of the Public Assembly Places Ordinance (VStättVO)

The federal states of Hamburg and North Rhine-Westphalia have brought their state regulations into line with the new Model Regulation on Places of Assembly (MVStättVO).

Key changes relate primarily to fire safety and facilities. For instance, more modern solutions are now permitted instead of the ‘iron curtain’. At the same time, the introduction of unisex toilets (in accordance with VDI 6000 Sheet 3) has been officially incorporated. These adjustments reflect both technical progress and social developments.

This brings benefits for venue operators, technical staff and event planners. The new regulations provide greater flexibility in the use of event spaces and simplify the implementation of sanitary facilities.
