Support programme helps businesses on their journey towards ISO 20121

At the end of June, the associations fwd and IFES launched a joint support programme for certification to the international standard ISO 20121. Over the course of a year, event companies, agencies and service providers will receive step-by-step support in implementing sustainable event management.

This initiative comes against the backdrop of rising demands for evidence of sustainability and ESG performance in the events sector. As a result, ISO 20121 certification is becoming increasingly important and is emerging as a key indicator of quality for many companies.

The programme is particularly relevant for event agencies and corporate planners. As many companies now require comprehensive evidence of sustainability in their tenders, certification could improve prospects in pitches and tendering processes in future.
