When the CongressCentrum Pforzheim (CCP) was officially opened as a town hall in September 1987, it was one of the most modern event venues in southern Germany.
Next year, the CCP celebrates its 40th anniversary. The venue, which is popular for congresses, conferences, association events and large cultural events, has always been kept up to date with the latest technology and invested in the building fabric and equipment every year. Nevertheless, it is not possible to implement and complete all the necessary measures for a conference centre of this kind during ongoing operations or during the summer holidays.
For this reason, the individual halls and foyers of the CongressCentrum Pforzheim (CCP) will be closed for several months in 2026 and 2027 in order to carry out urgently needed refurbishment measures, particularly in the lighting and air conditioning systems. The CCP team is in close dialogue with customers in order to move events as far as possible between the halls or in terms of time.
As a first step, the Middle Hall will close from July to October 2026 inclusive, including the foyer and adjoining rooms. During this time, the Great Hall and the Small Hall can continue to be used without restriction. Major events have already been announced for the autumn - from comedians such as Ralf Schmitz or Özcan Cosar to congresses of the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative Association (BWGV) or the Employers' Liability Insurance Association for Raw Materials.
In the second stage, the Great Hall and the Small Hall will be closed and refurbished from May to November 2027 inclusive. During this time, the Middle Hall will remain open and will be able to host some events that would otherwise have taken place in the Great Hall. Major comedy and cultural events cannot take place during this period.
Normal operations are scheduled to resume from the end of 2027. The CongressCentrum Pforzheim will then shine again with modern and significantly more energy-efficient building technology, which will also contribute to the eco-balance of the largest conference centre between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and make it even easier to implement climate-friendly events.
The CongressCentrum Pforzheim is the largest event and conference centre in the northern Black Forest between Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and offers space for up to 2,000 visitors in the main hall. It is conveniently located in the centre of the city, has direct access to the Parkhotel Pforzheim with over 200 rooms and is equipped with modern event technology in all halls and conference rooms. The building was inaugurated in 1987 as the Stadthalle Pforzheim and is visited by up to 100,000 guests at around 300 events every year.
