QUICK FACTS:
With 225,000 visitors, PAROOKAVILLE is one of the largest festivals in Europe and Germany’s biggest electronic music festival. It is not a traditional music festival, but an entire city that comes to life once a year to keep the legend of its founding father, Bill Parooka, alive. The town was created as an artistic, free-spirited and crazy musical space where people can get in touch with themselves, experience genuine connections and feel a deep sense of bliss and fulfilment. PAROOKAVILLE: a spectacular world of freedom and love! In PAROOKAVILLE, everyone can be whoever they want to be – ‘Be the best version of yourself’.
HISTORY:
Since its inception in 2015, PAROOKAVILLE – a unique entertainment concept in the Lower Rhine region – has sold out every year and has been a huge success right from the start! For the premiere, 40,000 people flocked to the former military site at Weeze Airport over two days of shows. Advance ticket sales for the second edition in 2016 were sold out within 72 hours (80,000 people over two days), and in 2017, too, the event was SOLD OUT after just 48 hours, with 180,000 people attending over three days. After a two-year hiatus across the entire festival scene due to the pandemic, the ‘City of Dreams’ reopened its gates in mid-July 2022 to an incredible 225,000 electro-loving citizens, welcoming them into another world. And in 2023 and 2024, too, 225,000 Citizens partied wildly in their Madness City, which had already been sold out weeks in advance. For the 10th-anniversary edition, the announcement came once again before the festival weekend even began: Sold Out! The home of the (fictional) founding father Bill Parooka thus ranks amongst the elite of international events, alongside Tomorrowland (Belgium), Ultra Music Festival (Florida), Untold Festival (Romania) and others!
SHOW DETAILS:
Over three full days of the festival, top national and international DJs and musicians will perform on more than 10 stages. Alongside the Main Stage – redesigned anew each year and impressively illuminated – Bill’s Factory (the Second Main Stage and the origin of all PAROOKAVILLE visions conceived by founding father Bill Parooka) and other stages perfectly integrated into the city’s layout, such as Cloud Factory, Powerplant, Timelab, Desert Valley Stage, Brainwash and so on, the ‘City of Dreams’ offers countless places to discover and experience. The ‘Theatre District’ offers a varied entertainment programme featuring variety shows, podcasts, circus & acrobatics, drag & burlesque and much more, a diverse entertainment programme, whilst the much sought-after City Forest provides numerous chill-out areas; the Warsteiner Parooka Church (featuring a civil festival wedding and ‘fake’ weddings), Bungee and Fair (including the ‘Wilde Maus’ and ‘Sound Machine’), Post Office, Lottery & Kiosk, Cupra Wacky Shack, Desert Valley, 700qm pool, Boulevard with merch boutique, 1LIVE radio studio, food miles, 1000 Good Reasons (flowers, hair wreaths & co.), Jail (including tattoo artists), Parookaville Sign (Desert Valley), Platinum Club, Jukebus, Town Hall (Registration Office), Labratory (cocktail bar), Asbach Uraltersheim (wheelchair races, bingo, photo booth and live entertainment), Casino with slot machines, blackjack and roulette, ING Bank & basketball court, Backmarket (including phone repairs), Swertz DIYStore (Hagebaumarkt), Icebreaker One viewing platform (Gorbachev), PENNYSquare, Penny Trainee Store & Green Hangout, Powerhaus (generating electricity through dancing) and Beauty Tent (hair styling, make-up, etc.) by L’Oréal.
To mark the start of the second decade, the popular campsite categories have been given a clearer structure and expanded to include new offerings: From 2026, the three major areas of the Campsite – which covers over 800,000 square metres – will be known as the Camping District, Glamping District and Caravan District, and will offer something to suit everyone thanks to new sub-divisions into ‘Villages’. In addition, the Campsite features two fully stocked PENNY stores to serve the approximately 50,000 festival-goers.
The Main Stage, which is completely redesigned every year, already boasted the title of Europe’s largest festival stage in 2018 and will once again be the home to popular artists for three nights this year. Global stars and newcomers will celebrate there alongside the Citizens, in keeping with the festival’s motto, coined by the time-travelling architect Bill Parooka:
