fwd: establishes a regional office for Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia

The events industry in Central Germany is gaining a new voice: on 2 June, the industry association fwd: established its regional branch covering the three federal states. The aim is to foster regional networking, raise the profile of industry issues and engage in dialogue with policymakers. The executive board, led by Ulf Künemund, is now getting down to work.

The events industry in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia is gaining a new regional representative body: on 2 June, fwd: Bundesvereinigung Veranstaltungswirtschaft e.V. established its regional office (LV) for the three federal states. With this move, the association is further expanding its presence at state level and is now represented in a total of 13 federal states.

Regional networks are becoming increasingly important, particularly in times of economic challenges, rising demands and a growing need for cross-sector dialogue. The new LV aims to bring together companies in the events industry, raise awareness of regional issues and act as a link between the industry, politicians and the public.

Regional networking in the events industry

With the Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia regional association, fwd: is consistently continuing the further expansion of its nationwide association structure. The aim is to strengthen exchange within the sector, identify regional needs at an early stage and incorporate common issues into the association’s work.

Plans include regional networking meetings, dedicated event formats and ongoing dialogue with companies in the sector across the three federal states. The regional association is set to become the central point of contact for members and interested parties.

Executive Board takes up its duties

At the founding meeting held at Felix in Leipzig, the Executive Board was elected for the next three years. Ulf Künemund, Managing Director of Veranstaltungsservice Künemund GmbH, was elected Chair. The Deputy Chairs are Eik Hofmann, Managing Director of visolite Veranstaltungstechnik GmbH, and Jan Mielert, Managing Director of M3 Magdeburger Messebau und Marketing GmbH.

Silke Schulte, managing director of fwd: Servicegesellschaft mbH, takes on the role of finance director. Fabian Knapek, managing director of Wildfeuer Agentur GmbH, and Daniel Natho, managing director of Pradler Veranstaltungstechnik Magdeburg – Beholz & Natho GbR, were elected as specialist directors.

“We want to create a platform that connects companies in Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia and raises awareness of the concerns of the local events industry. The regional representative body aims to promote dialogue whilst also providing impetus for the further development of the sector in the region,” says Ulf Künemund, Chair of the newly founded regional representative body.

The regional representative office is supported by Romy Möslein, a freelance events and marketing manager from Leipzig. She assists with member support, identifies opportunities for regional association work and consolidates the region’s needs.
