A recent study by the Themed Entertainment Association, to which the US business magazine "Forbes" refers in a recent article, emphasises the exceptional development of Europa-Park Adventure Resort. According to the article, Germany's largest theme park is one of the "fastest-growing theme parks in the Western Hemisphere" and is highlighted as the fastest-growing theme park outside of the Disney and Universal groups. The study looks at visitor development between 2005 and 2024 in the 25 most visited theme parks worldwide.
Europa-Park's ranking is particularly noteworthy: the family-run business in Rust, which was opened by Franz and Roland Mack in 1975, is the only owner-managed theme park among the top-ranked parks. With visitor growth of 57 per cent between 2005 and 2024, Europa-Park achieved an impressive fifth place in an international comparison.
The Forbes article particularly emphasises the innovative strength and strategic approach of the adventure resort for its growth. "Europa-Park has gained popularity by masterfully shaping regional destination tourism and presenting a unique programme of attractions and shows," says Forbes. Over the past decades, a popular day trip destination has evolved into one of Europe's leading theme park resorts. Today, Europa-Park Adventure Resort comprises Germany's largest theme park, one of the largest water worlds in Europe, six adventure hotels, Silver Lake City with Western Houses, Tipi Town, camping and caravanning as well as the culinary world novelty Eatrenalin. With the expansion of Silver Lake City, further offers are being created, including the Riverside Western Lodge with 119 rooms, the park's own brewery and the social project "Europa-Park Children's House Little Heroes", which will open soon.
Europa-Park has already been honoured ten times by the US trade magazine "Amusement Today" with the prestigious "Golden Ticket Award" as the "Best Theme Park in the World". The current recognition by Forbes once again emphasises the international appeal of the Europa-Park adventure resort and the importance of the Mack family business within the global theme park industry.
Owner Roland Mack: "Last year, we celebrated the 50th anniversary of Europa-Park. With passion, innovative strength and great attention to detail, we have been following a vision since 1975. We have never compromised on quality and have always placed the experience of our guests at the centre. For me, the smiles on visitors' faces when I walk through the park every day are the best proof that we have done a lot of things right over the past five decades. This fills me with great joy and pride and motivates my family and our employees to give their best every day. Perhaps this is precisely the great secret of an eighth-generation family business in the international world of theme parks."
