In mid-May, the Westfalenhallen Group officially approved the largest modernisation and infrastructure project in its history. Over the coming years, two new exhibition halls and a central entrance complex are to be built in the southern part of the site. The aim is to modernise the exhibition venue in the long term and create additional capacity for events and trade fairs.
The expansion is intended to further strengthen the competitiveness of the Dortmund venue within the German trade fair market. At the same time, existing spaces and visitor flows will be comprehensively reorganised.
This is particularly relevant for stand builders, exhibitors and event agencies. During the construction phase, temporary restrictions, adjusted logistics routes and changes to access regulations could affect event operations. In the long term, however, the project is intended to create new opportunities for larger and more modern event formats.
