DIN 33463: New standards for conference packages are gaining ground in the market

Conference hotels and conference centres are increasingly having to adapt their services to meet the requirements of DIN 33463.

The new DIN 33463 standard for conference packages, which was introduced in the spring, is becoming increasingly important in the market. It specifies which services must be included in a conference package and how these should be itemised. These include, amongst other things, technical support, catering and room hire. The aim is to make offers from different providers more transparent and easier to compare.

Purchasing departments at large companies, in particular, are now increasingly demanding standardised quotation structures when planning and booking business events, meetings and conferences.

This development is particularly relevant for conference hotels, convention centres and business venues. Many providers must adapt their quotation portfolios and costing models to the requirements of DIN 33463. Offers without a clear overview of services could be rejected more frequently in future during tendering and procurement processes.
