New ‘Future Skills’ compact course for event project managers launched

The Institute for Communication Studies and the trade association fwd: have announced a new short course for the professional development of event project managers.

On 4 September 2026, the Study Institute for Communication and the industry association fwd: officially announced a new, specialised intensive course. The aim is to provide systematic further training for event project managers in key ‘future skills’, which have gained in importance due to stricter legislation in areas such as ESG reporting, accessibility and the use of AI.

This is particularly relevant for event planners, agencies and HR professionals. Coordinating complex interfaces between security, digital attendee management and measurable sustainability evidence requires a new set of competencies for event project managers.

The new course offers certified standards designed to ensure that project teams are positioned in a legally compliant and future-proof manner.
