degefest’s VSME Sustainability Report has been published on the German Sustainability Code (DNK) website.

When people talk about sustainability, they often mean only ecological or environmental issues. Yet true corporate sustainability is a triad comprising the environment, society and corporate governance. Those who focus solely on their green footprint overlook the social and corporate governance aspects. For us at degefest, it is therefore clear that this approach is not effective. A sustainability strategy can only work if it is holistic.

Because many of our member organisations wish to follow this holistic approach, we, as a trade association, actively fulfil our advisory role. We provide our members with targeted support in establishing certified management systems, bespoke strategies and transparent VSME reporting to the DNK.

Naturally, we hold ourselves to the same standard. That is why our association has developed a comprehensive sustainability management system and firmly embedded it at association level. For us, the adoption of VSME reporting was, and remains, the next logical step towards the future.
