The Federal Council has decided to introduce a temporary reduction in the energy tax on fuels. From 1 May 2026, the tax will be reduced for a period of two months. This could lead to a reduction in petrol and diesel prices of up to 17 cents per litre.
The measure is intended to reduce the currently high energy costs in the short term. Particularly at a time when many events are being planned and organised, this has a direct impact on transport and logistics costs. It makes it temporarily easier to plan budgets.
Event logistics, stand construction and tour management stand to benefit most from this. The temporary reduction can help to better cushion the high transport costs associated with the upcoming festival and open-air season.
